The new design of the muffler for the Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems fits exceptionally well to the aggressive Super Duke look.
The exhaust is configured as a 2-1-2 system, with two conical header tubes leading into a Y collector, then into a cylindrical Y link pipe and finally onto the two mufflers. The difference between the Racing and the Evolution mufflers is in the materials used. The Racing system uses high quality stainless steel, while the Evolution uses a special type of titanium The performance characteristics of the two systems are identical. The individual components are connected with sleeve joints secured with silicon-shielded springs. For the KTM Super Duke we fitted the new design Akrapovic mufflers, which are attached to the frame using Akrapovic carbon-fibre clamps. The muffler outer sleeves are titanium, as are the perforated inner tube, inlet cap and outlet tube. The outlet tube is formed using the hydroforming process accurate to the last millimetre.
